The City of Newcastle covers the harbour city and the suburbs that spread west towards Lake Macquarie. Our part of it is the western side, where many suburbs began as coal mining towns in the 1800s and later joined the city: Lambton was its own municipality from 1871 until 1938, for example. The council runs five swimming centres, at Lambton, Wallsend, Mayfield, Beresfield and Stockton. John Hunter Hospital at New Lambton Heights is the region's main public hospital. The University of Newcastle at Callaghan brings many students to Jesmond and nearby suburbs, and Kotara is one of the city's biggest retail areas.
From our base in Wallsend, Glenrock Support, a registered NDIS provider, brings NDIS Newcastle support to the western suburbs of the city. Each person gets a steady team of two or three support workers who live nearby.
NDIS Newcastle: the suburbs we cover
Each suburb has its own page with local detail, nearby services and the questions families there ask most:
We also travel to Elermore Vale, Maryland and Waratah. Living south of the city? See our NDIS Lake Macquarie page.
What kind of help can I get in Newcastle?
Core supports cover most of what we do: personal care and help with daily living at home, community participation out of the house, and NDIS cleaning and household tasks. Support coordination, plan management, therapy, SIL and overnight support aren't services we offer, and we point you to providers who do.
Prices and starting with Glenrock
Our prices follow the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 and never go above the price limits. You get a written quote and a service agreement before anything starts. Begin on our getting started page, where support coordinators can send referrals too.
